At Holy Family Senior Living, some of the most meaningful moments don’t come from a schedule — they come with a wagging tail, a soft chirp, or the gentle ripple of water.
Maverick — Our Community Dog
Maverick lives at Grace Mansion but makes his rounds to the Manor, seeming to know exactly who needs him. When he enters a room, faces light up. He sparks memories of childhood pets, opens conversations, and brings comfort simply by being present. He also keeps residents moving — a short walk down the hall, a few extra steps outside, bending down for a pat. Socially, he connects people through shared stories and smiles. He’s more than a pet — he’s part of our community’s rhythm.
The Birds in the Lobby
The soft chirping in our lobby creates an immediate sense of warmth. Residents and visitors alike pause to watch them. Their movement and song bring calm, connection, and simple joy — especially for those with memory challenges.
The Fish Tanks Upstairs
On the second and third floors, fish tanks offer quiet peace. Residents gather to watch, reflect, or chat. The gentle bubbling and slow movement create a natural space for stillness and conversation.
Why It Matters
Animals reduce loneliness, encourage movement, spark conversation, and bring comfort. At Holy Family, Maverick, our birds, and our fish help make Grace Mansion and the Manor feel less like facilities and more like home. Sometimes the simplest things make the biggest difference.
